John Martyn Andrew is mentioned in this document at the National Archives, as being a surveyor, from Ridgway Lodge, Plympton St Mary and also as “of Plympton St Maurice, land agent”. There is, however nothing to confirm that it is the same man, although the dates (Extract from Probate Registry concerning a will dated 1920), and the relative rarity of the name ‘Martyn’ support this belief. Ridgway is the town centre of a suburb of Plymouth, called Plympton, which incorporates St. Mary and St. Maurice. He is also mentioned in this document as being “of Plymouth, estate agent and surveyor.” This also adds small support to it being the same John Martyn Andrew, being involved in property dealing. Other West Country connections keep cropping up.
