In 2007, Alice and I had decided that Brisbane, Australia, was too far to go for the international puzzle party. Consequently, we decided that Alice should choose a destination for our summer holiday, and after much deliberating she decided on the Isle of Skye off Scotland's western coast.
However, to complicate matters, Alice got a new job during the summer, and we found ourselves having to have an additional week's holiday. She suggested Berlin, a city which we had visited on a day-trip in 1991, about 15 months after the Berlin Wall was demolished. Firstly, here are our general pictures.
It seemed an excellent venue for a mini puzzle party. As we were going to be the only attendees, I was able to choose all the side events myself! As well as an attempt at disentangling the statue symbolising the separation of East and West Berlin, we also visited a playing-card shop, and I visited the city's Science Museum. In case I didn't find any new puzzles in Berlin, I had taken a few with us...

Above you can see my Exchange Puzzle which I graciously presented to the people of Berlin, in the hope that they would each give me a puzzle. It’s a disentanglement puzzle, as you might have guessed. And here’s another one that left me struggling...
All in all, Berlin is a wonderful city for a puzzle party, whether you are on your own in in your hundreds...
