Puzzle With No Name
There isn’t really a lot I can say about this puzzle, but that doesn’t detract from its challenge. It comprises a rectangular tray and six identical irregular wooden quadrilaterals, about two inches along the longest edges.
The six pieces each have a single hole drilled right through, but always in a different place. There are also three aluminium pegs, slightly longer than twice the thickness of one of the wooden pieces.
The object is simple enough, place the six pieces in two layers of three, in the tray, aligned so that the three pegs can each slot into the holes, with each peg penetrating two wooden pieces. There are at least four ways of fitting three pieces into the tray in a single layer, so the permutations here are quite numerous.. To protect the designer’s copyright I have not pictured all the pieces, just enough to give the general idea.
